FISHERS OF MEN

As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw  Simon and his brothers Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fisherman.’ Come, follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and ‘I will make you fishers of men.’ At once they left their nets and followed him.” (Mark 1: 16-18) God ask us to make disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28:18-20) We need to be equipped to be fisher of men. Putting on the armor of God is one way to be ready at all times with everything we need.

Ecclesiastes teaches us about the advantages of companionship: Two people are better than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help, but someone who falls alone is in trouble.”(Ecclesiastes 4: 9-10 NLT)

We as men must offer the only effective net to other men – the gospel of Jesus Christ, to those who are perishing and hurting. The message of the cross is foolishness, but to us, it is the power of God. The gospel message has the power to change lives, shine light into darkness, and deliver men with inner hurt and pain. There is power in no other message and no other “net” can catch the fish of God.

That is the goal and objective of the “fisher of men ministry.”
